Love That Never Fails
by Sue
When I was at school one time, I had entered my classroom feeling really isolated. Circumstances at home were difficult and as a result, I had arrived at school unhappy and now having to spend the day in a classroom filled with bullies and few friends was a big problem for me. As I entered the classroom and felt like a fish out of water not knowing where I should sit – certainly not by the window as there was certain to be trouble with kids who sat there, so I sat on the other side of the room. I thought I wouldn’t be in as much trouble over that side- but I was wrong. Sandwiches and other bits of food were thrown at me from behind as the trouble makers on that side didn’t want me sitting there either.
I got up, grabbed my stuff, stormed out of the classroom, and went down the corridor to where the Headmaster’s Office was. There, I sat on a low window ledge and prayed to the Lord about the situation. I was totally beside myself. I felt distraught over the situation I was facing and asked the Lord to help me. And He did. In that small, still voice the Lord spoke to me and said, I should go back to the classroom. So, I got up and went back down the corridor to the classroom. This time as I entered one of the girls said “Come over and sit with us” and so I did, just as the teacher came into the room, and gave us an English lesson.
Jesus’ comforting words came to me. Echoing what He says in the Bible He said “They hated me before they hated you, but one day you will understand the reason why.”
And sure enough, now I have come to know and understand what love really is. The Love of the Lord is the most beautiful experience I have ever known, having the assurance that I can come to him at any time and bring all my problems to Him. The Lord is the best friend I could ever have and I am looking forward to when the Lord calls all those who are born again of His Spirit up to heaven.
I can honestly say I have never felt so much love (other than from my lovely husband) since meeting Jesus and allowing Him to take over my life. He has given me a wonderful, and certain hope for the future. Soon and very soon, I am going to meet the King.
Whilst I wait, I will sing and praise Him for He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Mine and Malc’s eternal home is secure in Jesus because our Lord and Saviour loves us and, in the Bible, He has given promises to us, and His love and His promises never fail.
“Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.” (1 Corinthians 13:4-8)
And the love of Jesus is for you too.
