I tried to save a bee today. There are quite a number in my garden because we planted lots of lavender along one side of the garden to attract the bees and the butterflies. But this poor little thing, (actually it was quite a large thing) was really struggling. It stayed on the ground and crawled about on my concrete path. I could easily have stepped on it, but I worked around it and avoided killing it. They are valuable. We need bees to pollinate our plants, our crops and everything we enjoy in the country and in our gardens. Bees have a purpose and a value.

I poured some sugar water near to the bee and tried to encourage it to drink from it. But it didn't take me up on that offer and decided to wander off in another direction. In the end, the best I could do was to pick it up (I helped it to crawl into a plastic plant pot) and I placed it back on the ground near the lavender. Maybe that helped a little and I tried my best to save the bee - they are worth saving!

God sees each one of us - as worth saving too! To God, we also have a purpose and a value. He wants to have a personal relationship with each one of us and He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus to die on a cross, to bear in His own sinless body the punishment for our sin. He shed His precious blood to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. That's how much God values each one of us.

The gospel message is offered to us to save us. Better than sugar water it is the offer of the forgiveness of sin and life eternal. We would do well, to receive all that God offers us in Jesus Christ, and foolish, to wander away from such great an offer. Like the bee that declined my sugar water will die, so, all that choose to reject God's offer of life.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

Jesus said:
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6)

And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)
