Help in Time of Trouble

One time I was walking home after visiting a friend, she was the daughter of one of my mum’s friends, who went to a different school to me, so it was good to catch up.
I left her house and had just turned the corner when I spotted a group of girls from my school, who had given me a lot of trouble and always abusive to me. They were just hanging around as usual with the usual terrible and vile language coming out of their mouths. They seemed to me like a pack of ravenous wolves.
As I was just about to pass them, desperately trying to hurry by as quick as I could, a girl about my age took my arm and said to me, within earshot of the pack of wolves, “You are my friend.” She spoke so nicely and she walked closely beside me as we passed them. I had never ever seen her before. I didn’t know her name. We turned the corner near a local church there and she said to me “You’ll be alright now.”
I turned to thank her, but she was gone. She had disappeared. I looked behind me and down the road, both ways, and across the road. She was nowhere to be seen.
She had disappeared so quickly, that it came into my mind that she must have been an angel sent to help in my time of need. An ordinary person could simply not have walked away that quickly.
I know the Lord looked after me and protected me from those girls that I had no choice but to pass in order to get home, and I have never forgotten that afternoon.
I think this clearly shows how much the Lord watches over us and protects those who are His, even when the wolves are out to get us to cause harm. Do not be alarmed, God will send you help in your time of need.
The Bible speaks says we should “not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.” (Hebrews 13:2)
I believe that is exactly what happened that day.
I have shared that experience with many friends over the years and to some, it has brought comfort and reassurance that they too will be protected by God’s almighty hand.
