New Year - New Fear?

Whilst many look forward with hope and anticipation, as the new year gets underway, some are concerned, worried and even fearful of what the future holds for them.
But it doesn't have to be that way.
Consider the amazing promises which God has for us as we trust in Him by trusting in His beloved Son, Jesus:
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.
(Jeremiah 29:11-13)

If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.  The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
(2 Corinthians 5:17)

“Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old.  Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?  I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert."
(Isaiah 43:18-19)

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
(Proverbs 3:5-6)

...put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
(Ephesians 4:22-24)

And He who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also He said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
(Revelation 21:5)

All of these promises are certain and sure. God is always true to His Word.
He says what He means and He means what He says. ...
