The love of God for His creation – you and me, is great. He loves us and wants us to spend eternity with Him in heaven.

But there is a problem. God is Holy and cannot permit sin in His presence. And the Bible makes it clear that we have all sinned.

Don’t be fooled into thinking that there are good people – those who have never killed or robbed and bad people – sinners, who have. That is our own estimation of good. But God’s measure of goodness is absolute perfection. One tiny ‘white’ lie and you have sinned.

So, God Himself made a way by which we could be forgiven of our sin and become, in His eyes, sinless. He came to this earth as a baby – born of a virgin – conceived by the Holy Spirit and grew to be the Man Christ Jesus, but without sin of His own.

When Jesus, falsely accused by the religious men of the day, willingly died on the cross at Calvary, God laid upon Him the sin of the whole world. Every filthy thought, word, or deed. And Jesus - without sin, paid for it all with His life.  But death could not hold Him because He had no sin of His own, and he rose from the dead on the third day.

Now we can come to Jesus in prayer, repent of our sin, accept Him as Lord and Saviour and receive forgiveness and eternal life. Ready, when we die, to be with God in heaven.
