When approaching the end of his life on earth, the Apostle John was called up into heaven and commanded by God to write in a book and record all that he was shown.

That book is the book we know as The Revelation of Jesus Christ and is the final book in the Bible and John records all that will happen in the future - the good and the bad. The good - reserved for all who trust in Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, the bad - for those who make the choice not to trust Jesus.

John was obviously overwhelmed to actually stand before Jesus in heaven and in this verse we hear the words of Jesus as He brings peace and calm to John at the start of his time in heaven. These same words of Jesus can bring you and me that same peace, as we realise just who Jesus is and what He has done for us and what His great plan is for our eternal future.
