Suppose a friend comes by your house and offers you a gift.

What would you do? Would you refuse to take it until you had paid him for it?

Would you decline it because you felt you were not worthy of it?

No, of course not. Your friend wants you to have it and has already paid for it; all you must do is accept it.

In a far greater way, this is what Jesus Christ did for you. By His death on the cross, He paid the price for our sin, and secured our eternal salvation - completely and fully.

If we were asked to pay the price for our own sin it would cost. It would cost us our life.

But now Jesus offers it to us as a free gift.

And all we have to do is - receive it.

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
