A Good Man Remembered
At the tail-end of 2021 the eBand were invited to play at a local church which was hosting the Christmas party for a home for young men with learning difficulties amongst whom is our own son.
Part of the reason for hosting the party at the church was so that more guests could be invited to attend and the invitation list included staff and family members of the late Sir David Amess MP. Sir David was a kind and genuine man who had been a friend and frequent visitor to our son and his friends at their care home.
Also present was the Town Mayor who, during the evening, presented a framed picture which had been produced at the care home, to Sir David's staff in honour of this wonderful man who was much loved, respected, and certainly missed. That picture now hangs in Parliament.
The evening went well and the care home staff, the lads, and all the guests enjoyed a great time dancing to the eBand and enjoying the fantastic buffet food organised by the home.
Subsequent to the tragic death of Sir David, the town which he served faithfully for so many years, and had campaigned steadfastly for City status for, was granted that status, as a tribute to him. He will be missed and long remembered.
Surely he will never be shaken; the righteous will be in everlasting remembrance.
