The Bible is filled with promises. Promises of a coming day of Glory when Jesus Christ will return to judge the world in righteousness (because God is holy) and fulfill His promises to those who trust Him (because God is loving and gracious.)

But the bible clearly indicates that when Christ returns to this world, the world will not be expecting Him. Because they are not looking for Him!

Remember how the people in Noah’s day did not believe Noah when he warned that a flood was coming as God’s judgement on a wicked and sinful world. They chose to ignore the warning and did not find safety and salvation within the Ark of God’s promise of rescue.

Sadly, multitudes today, do not, (or will not), believe God’s warning of His coming judgment upon an equally wicked and sinful world, as we live in today. There is a promise for those who do choose to receive salvation in Jesus – God’s promise of rescue for today.

The flood did come, though. And so will God’s judgment.

Jesus calls those who know Him, to look for His coming and to wait with expectation. Our hands should be busy doing His work – and our eyes should be looking up, in anticipation, watching for the return of Jesus.

The invitation is open to all to turn from wickedness, sin and unbelief to the Great Saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ and to turn to Him.

Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.
