Do you ever tell somebody a bit of good news? People need all the good news they can get these days. Maybe news of your own good fortune, or any cheering news you have read,

or any good story you have heard.  If not, perhaps now is the time to tell somebody the things that will cheer and encourage them.

That’s certainly a good way to help others to keep going in hard times, maybe to try more, or do things differently and, to win through to happier days.

But here is the best bit of news you will ever hear.

God loves you.

That’s it.
But just think about it for a moment.

Most of us have somebody that they can confidently say, loves them. Sadly, not everyone does. But most of us do.

But this one thing is uncompromisingly, unashamedly and undeniably true.

God loves YOU!

But how can it be said it is undeniably true, I hear you ask.

Answer: Because God Himself says so in the His word – the Bible.

In John Chapter 3 and verse 16 it says this:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

God is saying that whosoever (that is anyone), would look at what Jesus did when He willingly died on the cross at Calvary to pay the price for all sin (yours and mine) and will repent of their sin and believe and trust in Jesus – God’s only begotten Son – they will receive forgiveness of sin, escape from the power of sin and death and will have eternal life!

Notice that the Bible refers to God's Son (Jesus) as the only begotten son. Not just the only son. The reason for this is because all who will trust in Jesus become His adopted sons – adopted into God’s family.

And girls and ladies need not despair – because the term ‘son’ in this context includes God's sons and daughters. Both are equally welcome into God’s Kingdom.

What? Both are sons? Yes!

In most, if not all cultures around the world, it is the son that inherits from the father.

And all of God’s children - sons and daughters are sons to Him, and inherit from their heavenly Father.

That is a wonderful promise to all who will trust in Him.

And that is very good news.

And not just for somebody – but for everybody.
