What is the foundation of your life like? Is it holding firm - or is it a little shaky?

You may answer “It’s good. I have worked hard and built a good life for me and my family.”

But will that be good enough?

If we build our lives upon the most solid foundations that this life can afford – a good job, a nice home, a loving family.  All nice – but not eternal. Jobs come to an end, homes fall apart, and relationships break down. None are guaranteed to last.

We need to build our lives on the solid foundation of what God has done for us, in Christ Jesus. Then there will be no wavering, no instability, nothing will rob us of that assurance of eternal life.  What love, what joy, what peace, floods our lives as a result.

Problems? Oh. there may be many, but nothing - absolutely nothing, can shake us from this foundation.

The Apostle Paul lists all sorts of trials which might come our way (Romans 8:35-36):

'Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written,' 

“For your sake we are being killed all the day long;
we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”

We may not know what will happen in the future but we can be certain of this assurance (Romans 8: 37-39):

“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

“Being Justified by faith we have peace with God” (Romans 8:1)
